Carter could be headed to the Magic Kingdom.
Multiple sources are reporting the Magic and Nets are close to completing a deal that would send Vince Carter to Orlando in exchange for Rafer Alston, Courtney Lee, and Tony Battie.
According to a Yahoo! report, the deal could be finalized by the end of the day.
The deal likely means Hedo Turkgolu’s days in Orlando are over. Carter has three years, 51 million remaining on his contract.
The Magic wanted to part with Rafer Alston, but it seems strange Courtney Lee is involved in the trade. Lee showed promise as a rookie and would have likely held down the shooting guard position for years in Orlando.
The Nets get younger and faster with this trade. New Jersey is expected to select either Terrence Williams or Gerald Henderson at No. 11 in today’s draft to fill the void left by Carter.
Word now that the Warriors and Suns are close to a deal that would send Amar’e Stoudemire to Golden State. Stay tuned for more trade updates.
