Could Anderson be headed back to the dirty south?

As of 7:30 PM Central time, Kentucky had yet to finalize a contract with Memphis coach John Calipari.

All indications are that Coach Cal will accept the Kentucky job – if the money is right.

ESPN is reporting that he is seeking an eight-year, 35 million dollar contract.

CBS’s Greg Anthony told WSCR 670 AM in Chicago he believes Calipari wants at least six million per year.

Wow.

I still expect this deal to be finalized soon, but Calipari’s asking price is really high and might make Kentucky hesitate a bit.

Meanwhile, reports out of Memphis say the Tigers are already looking to replace Calipari. Anthony reported that Missouri head coach Mike Anderson is a leading candidate for the job.

Time will tell. As always, stay tuned.
