I’m not sure why Pitt was playing aggressive denial with the score tied. The strategy allowed Reynolds to burn the defense and make a relatively easy shot.
Dwayne Anderson led a balanced Villanova attack with 16 points.
Sam Young’s Pitt career is finally over. He led the Panthers with 28 points. DeJuan Blair added 20 points on 9-9 shooting from the floor.
I was really impressed by Villanova’s defense, which looked awful at times during the regular season. Jay Wright has his team playing with amazing focus and intensity.
